SUBMISSION PACKAGE CRITIQUES (QUERY LETTER, SYNOPSIS, & FIRST TEN PAGES): $200

I have read thousands of submission packages over the course of my career, both as an editor and as a reader for literary agents. I know exactly how to get agents excited to request your manuscript. I will give you detailed notes on your query letter, synopsis, and first ten pages and will critique a second version once you revise. I will also answer all of your questions as you embark on the submission process.

QUERY LETTER OR SYNOPSIS ONLY: $100

Just looking for a query letter critique? Or a synopsis critique? I can help. This package also includes a second critique once you revise.

1-HOUR PHONE CONSULTATION ($100

):

This is your chance to ask someone with real industry experience all of your questions about your writing career and the publishing business, whether you plan to publish traditionally or independently.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING ($25 per 1,000 words):

I currently offer one package for all writers looking for an editor. I read your entire manuscript 2-3 times. I then send your manuscript back to you marked up with comments via track changes along with a shorter note of my overall thoughts. You can use all of this as a map to revise from. This is a big picture edit and covers everything from the overall readability to character development, pace, and plot holes as well as smaller line notes. After you revise, I will read and review your revision and do more of a line edit on that version, making sure your manuscript is truly ready to meet the world. This package includes critiques of your query and synopsis and help while you're submitting. If you plan to independently publish, I'll critique your marketing copy and offer advice on that process. Working with me will transform your writing, but don’t just take my word for it. You can find a small sample of the dozens of testimonials I’ve received here.

SPEAKING AND LEADING WORKSHOPS:

I am available to speak at conferences, workshops, academic classes, and other events on everything from the act of writing to the publication process.

Kristen made it possible for me to complete the three novels in my Jack Salvo mystery series. She provided me with a blend of shrewd psychological insight, cold logic, and scholarly warmth in her assessments. When I disagree with her, nine times out of ten I take a second look at her comment and say, “Wait . . . she’s right!” My only complaint: I don’t like working with people who are smarter than me.
